Rev. Mark Niblock, who is based at St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, came to the rescue when an Antrim couple needed a Church of Ireland priest to take part in their daughter’s christening.

Catherine and Roy McCullough were disappointed when their local clergyman refused to officiate in the local Roman Catholic church, but delighted that Mark offered to make the trip.

Catherine said, “We spoke to NIMMA and they put us in touch with Rev. Mark. He was wonderful and helped make our day.

“Baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity does not confer membership of just one denomination, but rather of the whole Christian family, which is exactly what we are.”

Baby Kayla was christened at St Joseph’s in the town by the priest there, Fr Sean Emerson, and assisted by Rev. Mark.
